Ikaria (or Icaria) is one of the largest islands in the eastern Aegean Sea and it is located between Samos and Mykonos. The natural beauty, the traditional architecture, the people, capture the heart of any visitor.

Beaches

Agios Kirykos
Next to the port of Agios Kirykos is a small pebble beach, ideal for easy and quick access from the centre of the town.
There are cafes, restaurants, mini-markets and lodgings.
Armenistis
One of the most popular northern beaches, located in the very touristic resort Armenistis. It is in a small cove with a few umbrellas and has golden sand throughout. Small canoes and equipment for other water sports is available for hire. Above the beach are many shops, restaurants, cafés and lodgings.
Messakti
Messakti is one of the best and most famous Ikarian beaches. The small Myrsonas river flows into the sea there, after creating a green wetland.
It is organised with umbrellas and sun loungers and it is ideal for children. A beach bar serves cold drinks and snacks. Messakti is ideal for surfing!

Getting there
By plane
H Ikaria is about 40-50 minutes by plane, directly from Athens and about two hours by air from Thessaloniki. Also, there are connecting flights to Heraklion and Lemnos.
By boat
If you choose to come or depart by ship, there is a connection with Piraeus - Syros - Mykonos and Samos and Fournoi, from the two main ports of the island, Evdilos and Agios Kirykos. You can even get your own boat and strand to those two main ports or in other smaller ports. The Port Authority of the island is always ready to serve you.
